hey 76ers, yay yesterday's jts was quite the success wasnt it? even though only 15 seniors turned up, i think it was much better planned than stj. even though the seniors burned a HOLE in our pockets by like buying half of swenson's. i guess what matters is that we had fun. ANYWAY, here's wishing marianne and derniese ALL THE BEST in their election campaigns which kicked off today. and hooray for NO GP TEST tmr muahahahahaha.
on a side note, i love this season's american idol! yeah we have our little following in class, but for those who didnt catch last night's episodes, i thought these 3 were immense. oh and btw, just fast forward when paula abdul gives comments she's like high on drugs, god knows what she's rambling about.

this is a sweeping statement and is unlikely to be true for everybody
you could well be 'selfish, spoilt and apathetic' - but in all situations?
are all your problems 'petty'? might you in fact be suggering from one of the 'larger social issues' yourself - or be the cause of them?
you could actually agree - and then explain why you are that way, effectively shifting the blame to someone else
you coud demonstrate that you are not apathetic by showing good knowledge of say, poverty, and being familiar with how singapore tries to solve this problem.
unselfishness- could this be proven by examples of how you and your peers have actively given help to the poor?
parents today can be rather indulgent, but spoiling occurs only when indulgence results in bad behavior and an attitude of entitlement. Do you behave like a spoilt brat?
the main problem here is self-centeredness, which gives rise to selfishness, apathy and an attitude of entitlement

ok the carnival thingy sounded damn fun...or at least more fun than being stuck in the stupid auditorium for 3 excruciating hours listening to boring ex-hwachongians saying the standard cliched things about being proud to be back, blah blah blah. and the food at the end wasn't worth the wait either. so pity poor me, sfan, waffle and quinny. i had (quite) a fun time at the Ares carnival yesterday :D hope you did too! i tell ya, we had the best business idea ever :D selling sweets, bought fishballs, mcchickens and french fries from MACS. and we were done in no time!

Hello all! A10 has come up with an idea to have ARES SHOELACES. (We'll be the first faculty to have our own faculty shoelaces! XD) But before they pitch the idea to the fac comm, they want to know what other Aresians feel about the idea. firstly, there is an inter class blogging competition going on now. so yeah details are as follows.
Theme: Live With Passion! - showcase how you and your classmates live life to the fullest and with passion. study with passion, play with passion, dance with passion.
Prizes: $1000 worth of meal vouchers.
Judging Criteria - CAP: 1. C for Content/Thematic Coherence (50%) i.e. Showcase how you "Live with Passion" 2. A for Aesthetics (20%) 3. P for Participation (30%)

secondly, there is also a inter ct healthcare kit design competition going on. basically we need to design a healthcare kit for the citizens of a country with healthcare problems such as africa, china, vietnam etc. and we need to decide what to put in the kit and justify the items. up to 6 items
we have to come up with the design on the kit the form has to be submitted by friday 4pm.
Judging criteria: Originality and creativity Choice of items including feasibility Aesthetic appeal of design
Prizes: ice cream vouchers worth $20 for best 3 entries.
lastly, we are going to have a cip thing for founders day on 20th march. we are going to Whispering Hearts Family Service Centre from 10am-2pm
